As far as bizarre music videos go, this one for 'Arty Boy', which also happens to be Flight Facilities' first new single in three years, is quite high up there. Directed by Faraz Sahriat (member of German art collective Jüngline), the video is almost a "let's get physical" parody, but actually acts as a mini-documentary about an Iranian-German couple who are old friends with Arnold Schwarzenegger and also own a bodybuilding bath house. The gym owned by this unassuming elderly couple transpires as the centre for oddballs to socialise, work out and wear their finest '80s-era haute couture. While it's rather easy to be distracted by this weird-yet-wonderful film, we shouldn't forget about the song. As with previous single 'Two Bodies', the Australian production pair have joined up with Brisbane vocalist Emma Louise to compliment their chunky creation with her airy tone. Retro synths and slapping percussion bubble up throughout 'Arty Boy', which creates a crisp vibe, perfect for those effortlessly cool, observant lyrics. - HT
